The true meaning of Valentines

Valentines is an event that happens once in a year to celebrate love. Celebrated every year on February 14. The term Valentines came from the saint named Valentine. According to legends, did you know that during medieval times where marriage to young teens is prohibited, St. Valentines would often be the priest that would practice marriage with these youngster in the shadows without anyone knowing. Until the king found out and ordered St. Valentine to be executed on February 14. that is where they coined the name valentines and why it is called the month of love.

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th to honor a martyr named Valentine and to celebrate love and romance. It's also known as Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine.
The Catholic Church may have established the feast day to honor two martyrs named Valentine who were executed by Roman Emperor Claudius II in the 3rd century. People celebrate by giving cards, flowers, chocolates, and poetry to their loved one. Up until know, people still celebrate this as way to show their love and affection to someone whether it is family, friends or anybody that you love. Valentines isn't just about giving flowers and writing letters, it’s a day where everyone can express and appreciate their love for each other.

Growing up, I never experienced the true meaning of valentines, no gifts no letter nor even chocolates. But I soon realized is not just about lovers, is everyone around you. Famly, friends and even strangers. Now,  I oftenm celebrate this event with my family I've soon realized that spending time. Them the more I understand what love was. It is a bond that is unbreakble. I have become more aware that even if it's not velentines, I still can choose to treat  like one, everyday showing love and affecton to everyone.
