A New Change

Image
As the New Year approaches, we did so many activities. We went to our hometown in pagudpud where we celebrated both our Christmas as well as our new year celebration. Made more fun memories with my cousins. Bond with family like helping them do cooking and going to different places. But the best part is the upcoming new year’s eve that we celebrated and since it’s a new year, it’s time to change myself for a better. So many things happened during our new year celebration. But after the celebration, all I wished is to enjoy life even more. I was so gloomy, lazy, stubborn and quite fat when 2024 started but it’s time for a change. All the negative things about me will be thrown out for the new and better things about me. I will change my ways, enjoying and changing perspectives about my life, start getting motivated to do more things, always follow what my parents would say and suggest and try to discipline my eating habits. This is my goal in this year, and I hope that I will achie...

What A Happy Jolly Holiday

Image
The holidays have ended and what I can say about is that I enjoyed it more than last year. Apart from being too busy and frustrated from school, I somehow feel better during those times. Where I rest and spend some fun times with my family and to my favorite cousins. This is the first time in many years that I truly felt Christmas again Now Im at school reflecting about it. As the holidays begin, me and my family went to our hometown in pagudpud. We go to the beach at basically everyday since it’s close to our house. Play volleyball and eat various foods and drinks. The best part of it is that we would bond countless hours without worrying about the time. As Christmas came, we received many gifts from our parents and we also gifted them with something special. We ate noche buena at exactly 12pm and spend the time talking and bonding with each other. After all, it’s Christmas and we should always enjoy it. It may seem so little has happened during our Christmas holidays but what I...

Ready to face new challenges

Image
The learning that I have gained in the whole of 2nd quarter are many. This includes the difference of stand alone tags and container tags. I also learned the different kinds of container tags and the functions of these tags. Most of all I also improve my typing abilities. The problems and challenges I encounter the most is sometimes I get my tags wrong. The output of my activity sometimes doesn’t show up. I address this issue by changing my computer and asking help from my seat mate or from my teacher Moving on I will keep on learning and mastering these tags since I will use this in the future. It improves my ability to type and my ability to use the right tags to use. Im also ready for new challenges that I will soon face and handle in the next quarter. There are more than 5000 different indigenous people around the world comprised 476 million people – around 6.2% of the global population. They are spread across more than 90 countries in every region and speak more than 4,000 languages. Although their customs and cultures may differ, Indigenous Peoples experience the same harsh realities the world over. Their human rights are routinely violated by state authorities, and they face   high levels of marginalization and discrimination. They face eviction from the ancestral lands   they have inhabited for generations, as well as restricted access to education, health care and housing. Indigenous human rights defenders are intimidated, attacked, and sometimes even killed, often with the support of the state. They are more likely to live in extreme poverty and suffer higher rates of landlessness, malnutrition, and internal displacement than other groups. They often rank highest for prison inmat...

End Violence Now

Image
Since the onset of the 18-day Campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW) in the Philippines in 2008, other VAW-related laws have also been signed and amended. Among others are the anti-rape law and safe space act. RA 8353(The Anti-Rape Law of 1997)    The law was passed by the Senate on June 5, 1997, and the House of Representatives on September 3, 1997. It was approved by President Fidel V. Ramos on September 30, 1997. This law redefined rape as a A crime against persons, because rape violates a person’s well-being and not just ones virginity or purity. The law considers that any person, whether a prostituted person, non-virgin or one who has an active sexual life may be victimized by rape. It also defined as a public offense. By declaring that rape is a crime against persons, the law no longer considers it as a private crime. Anyone who has knowledge of the crime may file a case on the victim’s behalf. The prosecution continues even if the victim drops the case...
